My blog is on auto pilot while I try and recover from My back surgery.  However, I did create this graduation card and box for the May/14 Pampered Crafters Retreat ladies to make. Such quick and easy projects!

This is a 3 1/8" box base with a 4 1/4" mortar board lid.  The tassels were created out of embroidery thread and topped with a Mark Richards Black Candi.  "Graduation" was stamped with Tsukineko's Versamark and embossed with Imagine Crafts Gold Embossing Powder. The sentiment is from the Zenspirations- On your Birthday Set CL5313.  If you want me to do a tutorial on the mortar board box, shoot me an email and when I am up and mobile again I will whip one up.

This 4-1/4" x4-1/4" card was stamped and embossed with this fabulous quote by Ghandi  called Change The World C5313.

I hope these have inspired you to create something masculine and play along!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!!

Retreat Info and Some News

Hello Friends!

May 23, 24 and 25th is our semi annual Pampered Crafter's Retreat at beautiful Gull Lake Retreat and Conference Centre, in Gull lake, Alberta.

Diane and I have created 10 fantastic make and takes featuring Impression ObsessionCTMH, Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko, and many more products.  There are 3d projects, wedding, graduation, birthday, scrapbook layouts and fancy folds for you to create and of course we have some wonderful surprises planned for you along the way!   The never ending treasure box will be there for you all to pick from as well as the 3 fabulous grand prizes for 3 lucky ladies.  Remember to not over pack your supplies, since Diane and I supply a ton of tools  etc.

Sadly, I won't be able to attend, as I have been called in for my back surgery and will be in the hospital during the days of retreat.  However, we do have our dear friend, the ever so sweet and talented Debbie King and my effervescent daughter Katie to fill in for me and partner up with Diane to ensure you all experience the high standard of pampering and creativity over the weekend!  These two ladies are quite amazing~ I know you will love them as much as Diane and I do!  Do have a dance for me on Saturday night and lots of giggles throughout the weekend!!

Mark your calenders for Oct 17,18 and 19 and don't forget to register for our next Pampered Crafter's Retreat while you are there!!  I will be all healed up, right as rain and roaring to create with you all by then.

I will not be able to do the stairs and get to my craft room for a while, so I will be taking a break from my DT positions with Impression Obsession and Imagine Crafts / Tsukineko , as well as blogging for a bit.  I have a 6 to 8 week recovery time but I will be chomping at the bit to be back at it! Though I do have a few blog posts scheduled to go on auto pilot.

The photo at the top of this post is a flashback photo of my creative and always fun craftin' partner, Diane and I from last October's Pampered Crafter's Retreat on the Sunday morning after only a couple of blinks of sleep all weekend.  Still laughing until our bellies hurt!!! Yup, Diane is definitely my muse.

Enjoy your weekend!! I know you will go home feeling inspired, tired and with a bunch of wonderful new sister's!

Hugs,
Ellen

Out of the box to me is anything you might normally not do.  I have been saving every tin for the last countless years and never got around to altering one.  So I decided to finally alter one and create a birthday gift box and matching card.
I painted the tin white and embellished it.  Here is the top of the tin....

The inside is just the right size for a gift card  and a note....

and a card to match.  I used Mojo 341 sketch.....

I hope you get a chance to play along!  Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Radiant Neon Blog Hop

BlogHop_badge

Welcome to the CardMaker and Imagine Crafts Radiant Neon Blog Hop!!  Imagine Crafts will be giving away a full set of Radiant Neon Inks to one lucky person, and yes, this is an international contest!!

Today's hop starts at CardMaker Blog, then go in order to the next blog to collect the "Electric Words" to build a phrase.  Then email the phrase to marketing@imaginecrafts.com.  You can find all the rules on the Imagine Crafts Blog.

Here is a quick and simple card featuring Radiant Neon Inks...

1.  Stamp Impression Obsession's  Floral Silhouette D9163 with Versafine Ony Black.  Color image with Fantastix using a flicking motion, starting with the lightest to darkest colors.  Here I used Radiant Neon  Electric Yellow then Electric Green for the leaves and stems and for the blossoms I started with with Radiant Neon Electric Blue and finished with Radiant Neon Purple.

2. Cut Image out and spray with Goosebumps Shimmer Spray for added texture.

3. Wrap linen thread around image.  Create a tag with Impression Obsession's Mini Rectangle Tag 2 Die Set DIE014-J and stamp Hello A9049 with Versafine Onyx Black.  Wrap linen thread around image and tie tag to it.

 4.  Pop image up over a 3-7/8" x 1-6/8" black mat.  Attach to a 4" x 1-7/8" white mat.

5. Die cut  Fancy Cutout Border DIE152-N and cut to 3-3/4" wide and attach to a 3-3/4" x 5" panel that has been embossed with Sizzix X and O Embossing Folder.  Adhere to 4" x 5-1/4" black mat.

6. Attach to a white 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base.

Don't forget to start at Cardmaker blog at the top of the hop list so you get all the "Electric Words" in the correct order and the rules are posted on the Imagine Crafts Blog.  Now off you go to collect your electric words and be inspired!!
